T-Dot Griots: An Anthology of Toronto's Black Storytellers
Edited by Karen Richardson and Steven Green
ISBN: 155395631-1
181 pages
T-Dot Griots is a labour of love that grew out of the La Parole Art Series. The book is a collection of stories, articles and poems by forty-something black writers here in Toronto. I had the privelege of editing the text alonside Steven Green. From summer 2002 through summer 2004 Steven and I laboured to make this dream a reality. Now we can happily say that we contributed to leaving a permanent record of the presence of black Canadians on the literary landscape.
We invite you to purchase a copy for yourself, your friend, your school or simply as a gesture of support. We believe that the stories of our community are important. In the spirit of the griots, we hope that others will continue to pass such stories from one generation to the next.
